Tonight’s SpaceX Launch: Sonic Booms and Starry Views!

Hey everyone! Get ready for an exciting Saturday night because SpaceX is lighting up the Florida sky again. Tonight, Saturday, August 15th, the Globalstar 2-R mission is scheduled for liftoff from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. The launch window opens at 9:12 p.m., but it’s a tight one. SpaceX only has 15 minutes to get the rocket off the ground!

For those of us here at Scott Price Media, we’re in a prime spot. Being just about 13 miles away, we have a front-row seat to the action. After the Falcon 9 takes off, it will be heading northeast. If the weather stays clear, anyone north of the Cape should get a fantastic view of the climb into orbit.

But the real show starts about eight minutes after launch. We are expecting the first-stage booster to come home for a landing at Cape Canaveral Landing Zone 40. If we’re lucky, we’ll see those engines ignite for a dramatic descent. And don’t forget to listen! As the booster returns, it’ll be announcing its arrival with those signature twin sonic booms.
